Using a ceramic jigsaw blade, I cut a shortened chassis plate from 2.25mm carbon sheet supplied by Carbonology. Unfortunately, the pretty top layer delaminated, but it's still presentable and thick enough for the job.
The shorter length is to correct the wheelbase that some people find visually wrong. I have only shortened by 3mm, but up to 5mm would be fine.
